Micah E. Tharpe #6-   Most Worshipful Grand Master


Micah was born the only child to Marshall E. and Marian B. Tharpe in Racine, WI.  He is a member of United Faith M.B. Church being baptized in 1992.

Growing up in Racine Micah attended S.C. Johnson Elementary School, Mitchell Middle School and J.I. Case High School graduating in 1996. After graduation, he attended Alabama State University, majoring in Business Management.

Masonic Affiliation

At the tender age of six, Micah became a member of the Racine Starlighters. A youth group to the Order of Eastern Star. High office served, Royal King.

In 1989 Micah became a charter member of William C. Ponder Council #1 Knights of Pythagoras serving as Senior Knight. In 1992 Micah became the Second Most Venerable Grand Master Knight of the Supreme Council Order of Knights of Pythagoras-Wisconsin.

Micah became a Master Mason in Southgate Lodge #6 Racine, WI on June 14, 1996 as he was made a Mason at site by his father, then Most Worshipful Grand Master. Micah went on to serve as Worshipful Master, 2005-2007.

Brother Micah E. Tharpe is also a member of Badger Chapter #5 serving as Worthy Patron 2004-2006.

Exalted a Royal Arch Mason into William O. Douglas #3. Dubbed a Knights Templar in James E. Green #5 and has served as Secretary, 2006 to present.

Noble Micah E. Tharpe was created a Noble of Zembo Temple #70 July 1998. Served as Illustrious Potentate 2008-2010. Past Potentate Tharpe was appointed Imperial Deputy Director of Group and Membership serving from 2012-2014 by 39th Imperial Potentate Donald R. Park #103 and 40th Imperial Potentate Homer L. Buchanan #107. In March 2016 Micah was elected President of the Midwest Shrine Coalition. Also Micah was selected into the Legion of Honor 2010 in Tampa, FL.

Frater Micah E. Tharpe was elevated to a Subline Prince (32 degree) at the 57th Wisconsin Council of Deliberation in Madison, WI October 2005. Tharpe also holds many offices under the Consistory Banner.  Illustrious Grand Master of Ceremonies for Wisconsin Council of Deliberation, Financial Secretary of Commanders of the Rite-Wisconsin and Financial Secretary of Robert N. Davis Class of 2012.

Under the tenure of the 26th Most Worshipful Grand Master James E (Cap) Davis (2004-2008) Past Master Tharpe was appointed to his first Grand Lodge Office Right Worshipful District Deputy Grand Master of the South. .Then went on to be appointed Worshipful Grand Junior Deacon and in June of 2010 elected Right Worshipful Junior Grand Warden.

June 14, 2016 that historic day at the Racine Architect Hotel and Conference Center being blessed by God and the powerful vote of the Craft Micah E. Tharpe became the 31st and youngest Most Worshipful Grand Master in the history of Wisconsin.
